Concerns have been expressed by well-known PDP senator Lee Maeba regarding the wording used by former governor Nyesom Wike in reference to former governor Peter Odili and his spouse, Justice Mary Odili. Maeba stressed the value of civility and respect in public discourse in a video that Arise TV posted on YouTube, particularly when speaking to the elderly and/or people who have made important contributions to society. He emphasized Wike’s comments regarding Peter Odili and Mary Odil, pointing out that calling them just “one man” and “one woman,” respectively, fails to give them the credit they merit.
