They Kept Silent For 8 Years When Their Son Was President; Half of Their State Was Taken Over – According to Sani

In reaction to a press conference hosted by the Katsina Elders Forum, former Kaduna senator Shehu Sani raised concerns and advised against the transfer of some government establishments, including departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), from Abuja to Lagos. In a post, on Friday, via his X account, Sani acknowledged the elders’ right to express their opinions and challenge any perceived act of unconstitutionality. However, he brought attention to the moral aspect of their activism, particularly in light of their silence during the eight-year tenure when their son, Muhammadu Buhari, was the President.

The post reads, “Eminent and respected Katsina Elders came out hard on the FG in a Press Conference against the relocation of some federal establishments. They have the right to freely express their opinion as citizens and as elders. I believe in their right to challenge any act of unconstitutionality. But one may ask the morality of their action, having kept silent for Eight Years when their son was the President and half of their state was taken over by terrorists. Where were they when their women were raped, Children kidnapped and villages set ablaze by terrorists.”

The former federal lawmaker further questioned, “Where were they when the nation’s treasury was looted and their state and region was impoverished under the leadership of their kin? Should we only speak truth to power when our kinsmen are not in power?”

Meanwhile, the Presidency has released a statement denying claims that it is planning to move the Federal Capital Territory from Abuja to Lagos. It urged citizens to disregard the rumours, saying it is being peddled by some disgruntled elements playing dirty politics. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
