Obi cautioned against vote buying, urging citizens to resist such practices as they contribute to increased insecurity and poverty. He lamented the deteriorating state of Plateau, once a hub of agricultural production and economic activities now marred by insecurity.
Julius Abure, LP’s National President, echoed concerns about the soaring cost of living, urging voters to elect competent candidates. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding electoral mandates to prevent a recurrence of past injustices.
Both leaders called for unity and active participation in the electoral process, stressing the need for citizens to vote responsibly to reshape the nation’s future.
He said: “We must all come out to vote and defend our votes. I want to say clearly and categorically too that what happened to us in the general election of 2023, where there was an open robbery of our presidential mandate can never again happen.
