On Saturday, he uploaded a post on his verified Twitter feed that included this comment.
His remarks are in response to the news that certain Labour Party members from the Lamidi Apapa group were physically assaulted in Edo state.
In the post that Shehu Sani made on his page, he said it is ok for people to criticize Lamidi Apapa but beating him either with cane or hand is bad.
He wrote on his page, “You can just criticize Lamidi but please stop beating Lamidi with hand nor with Koboko”
