Only hours after Israel deposed the Hezbollah commander, Hezbollah strikes Israel's Meron Base.

Hezbollah has reportedly taken credit for a major missile attack on Israel’s Meron military base, which is situated in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, according to Al Jazeera. According to the jihadist group, it retaliated for recent Israeli bombings in southern Lebanon by firing “volleys of Katyusha rockets.” This is the latest in a string of cross-border exchanges that have become more intense since the Israel-Hamas conflict started in October of last year.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The rocket barrage, which reportedly involved 140 rockets, was part of Hezbollah’s ongoing response to what it describes as aggressive Israeli actions against Lebanese territory and its operatives. The Israeli military confirmed that the rockets were fired in three waves, targeting various sites along the border with Lebanon. While some projectiles were intercepted, others fell in open areas, with no immediate reports of casualties from the attacks.

In a related development, Israel conducted airstrikes in Beirut shortly after the rocket assault, marking a rare attack on the Lebanese capital. The strikes targeted the Dahiyeh area, a Hezbollah stronghold, resulting in at least three fatalities and numerous injuries. Local media reported that explosions were heard across the densely populated neighborhood during rush hour, exacerbating fears of further escalation in hostilities.

Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, had vowed to continue daily strikes against Israel despite a recent incident involving the detonation of communication devices used by Hezbollah members, which resulted in multiple casualties. He characterized this sabotage as a “severe blow” but reaffirmed his commitment to retaliate against Israeli aggression.

The ongoing conflict has seen an uptick in violence since October 8, with both sides engaging in near-daily exchanges of fire. The situation has sparked concerns about a potential all-out war as each side continues to escalate its military responses. Israel has intensified its military presence along the northern border and has designated the return of displaced residents to northern Israel as an official war objective.

The humanitarian toll of this conflict is severe, with thousands displaced and casualties mounting on both sides. In Gaza, more than 41,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since October 7, according to local health officials. As tensions remain high and military operations continue unabated, the prospect of a broader regional conflict looms large, with both Hezbollah and Israel poised for further confrontations.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
