More than 70 People Were Killed in Plateau Attack on Christmas Eve, Shehu Sani Reacted

After more than seventy people were allegedly massacred by suspected armed bandits in the state, the Christmas celebration in Plateau State was apparently marked by sadness and melancholy. Vanguard reports that in new attacks on many towns in the Plateau State local government areas of Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos, the attackers are said to have killed at least 76 people.

Locals of the affected area described the incident as a coordinated attack that occurred on Saturday, and lasted into the Christmas Eve when residents were already in the festive mood.

Senator Sani took to his social media handle on X platform, formerly known as Twitter, to extend his condolences by tweeting:

“The killings in Plateau State is tragic and unfortunate. The country must find an end to this bloodshed. My condolences to the families of the victims and the Plateau State Government.”

Meanwhile, the state governor Caleb Mutfwang has, in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, condemned the attack and directed security agencies to promptly apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the heinous acts and ensure they face the full force of the law.
