Five Players Who Did Not Perform Well For The Super Eagles Against Rwanda in Today's AFCON Qualifiers

In their second encounter of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a scoreless draw by Rwanda. Despite dominating possession and creating a few chances, Nigeria struggled to find a breakthrough. The Rwandan defense stood firm, frustrating the Super Eagles throughout the encounter.

Samuel Chukwueze

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze showed flashes of his quality, but his overall performance lacked the cutting edge needed in the final third. He managed a few dribbles in the first half but failed to deliver any huge contributions to Nigeria’s attack.

Victor Boniface

Victor Boniface had a decent game but couldn’t capitalize on the few chances he had. His link-up play with fellow forward Ademola Lookman was promising, but he missed out on converting the half-chances that came his way.

Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, who came off the bench, struggled to make an impact due to tight marking by the Rwandan defense. The Galatasaray forward was often double-teamed, limiting his chances in front of goal. Despite the lack of service, Osimhen worked tirelessly to press the opposition.

Moses Simon

Moses Simon was lively throughout the game but, much like Chukwueze, he struggled to create any decisive moments. While his pace and movement kept the Rwandan defense on their toes, Simon couldn’t produce a clear chance for the team.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, deployed in an unfamiliar role, adapted well to the coach’s demands. However, his contribution in the attacking third was minimal as his new position limited his forward involvement.
