The move comes amid an ongoing power struggle between Fubara and the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been vocal in his opposition, warning the PDP governors to stay out of Rivers State.

He even threatened retaliatory measures against their states if they continued to support Fubara, his former protégé.

In response to Wike’s threats and to reaffirm their position, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed, has stood by Fubara.

Mohammed, who is also the Governor of Bauchi State, addressed the matter when he received a delegation from the PDP’s NWC. He emphasized that the support for Fubara remains unwavering.

“We all know the relationship between the FCT Minister and the current Governor of Rivers State, which is that of mentor and mentee,” Mohammed remarked.

He added that while the relationship may be strained, the PDP Governors’ Forum is committed to ensuring that the leadership structure in Rivers State remains intact and properly respected.

The NWC delegation, in its support, affirmed that the decision of the PDP Governors’ Forum to endorse Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State was correct and aligned with the party’s principles.

Mohammed also highlighted ongoing efforts to reconcile the relationship between Wike and Fubara, aiming to restore cooperation within the party.

“We are working behind the scenes to ensure they come together to work together in a manner that PDP is known for,” he stated.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
