Primate Ayodele’s warning follows recent admissions by the NNPCL that the company is grappling with significant debts owed to petrol suppliers. The cleric indicated that this financial burden could have severe implications for the stability of fuel supply in the country. According to Ayodele, the dire situation necessitates prompt intervention by President Tinubu to prevent a further escalation of fuel prices, which could impact the Nigerian economy and the everyday lives of its citizens.

The backdrop to Primate Ayodele’s remarks is the ongoing controversy surrounding the NNPCL’s financial health. Reports have emerged that the NNPCL owes approximately $6 billion to petrol suppliers. This substantial debt has reportedly led to fuel scarcity issues across Nigeria, raising public concerns over the sustainability of fuel supplies and the management practices within the state-owned petroleum corporation.

On Sunday, NNPCL spokesman Olufemi Soneye acknowledged the financial difficulties the company is facing. Soneye admitted that the debts have placed considerable pressure on NNPCL’s operations, posing a serious risk to the sustainability of the fuel supply in the country. These statements from NNPCL officials have only intensified the urgency for reform and effective management of the corporation’s resources.

Primate Ayodele has been a vocal critic of the state of affairs within the NNPCL, consistently calling for transparency and accountability. He reiterated his stance, describing the NNPCL as “rotten” and in dire need of reform. The prophet’s remarks reflect a broader sentiment among Nigerians who have expressed frustration over fuel scarcity, high prices, and what they perceive as mismanagement within the petroleum sector.

He said: NNPC is rotten, there is a need for a reform of the organization. Petrol will increase to N1200 and this will be killing.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
