According to Daily Post, This statement was made during a rally for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ekemwan region of the state. Obaseki reflected on the previous administration, noting a lack of respect for the populace, particularly women, and the promotion of negative practices such as prostitution and human trafficking.

He highlighted the improvements made since he assumed office, mentioning that pensioners, who once wore black on Labour Day, now don white, symbolizing better conditions. He also pointed out that youth unemployment has decreased significantly, contributing to Edo’s status as one of the safest states in Nigeria.

He emphasized the critical nature of the upcoming election, urging voters to support the PDP to secure victory.
