In an interview with TV360 Nigeria shared on YouTube, Fatunke said the major issue with this alliance is who will be the presidential candidate. He said Peter Obi has made it clear that he will not settle for vice presidency, which influenced his departure from the PDP. He also said Atiku is positioning himself advantageously rather than expressing genuine intent when he said he would not run for president if his party zones the ticket to the southeast

In Fatunke’s words: “Come 2027 there is going to be a very strong alliance and movement is already afoot getting there. Who do I think is going to head that ticket? That now is the elephant in the room. The parties are just looking for how to use one another and stuff like that. Atiku with the statement that he is making right now that ‘if the ticket is zoned to southeast’, I think that is being clever by half.
