In an interview with Trust TV, National Party of Nigeria (NPN) co-founder Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura said that even the South of the country is aware that the North of the country is home to two thirds of its inhabitants if a census is done. In response to assertions that the North would suffer if Nigeria broke away, he made this declaration. Because land is a limited resource, he continued, the North’s possession of 80% of Nigeria’s landmass is advantageous to them. He agreed that the two most crucial elements in a nation’s development are its population and its land.
