Professor Samuel Odewunmi questioned how long the former governor of Kogi State believed he could continue to break the law in a recent interview with TVC News. Odewunmi cited the case of former governor of Ekiti State Fayose, who was relieved of his duties after turning himself in to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on his own volition. Odewunmi’s comments come as the EFCC has been granted permission by the Federal High Court in Abuja to proceed with its investigation into the alleged 80.2 billion naira fraud case against Bello.
“Fayose in Ekiti knew the EFCC will be looking for him and he told them, ‘Please give me a week. Immediately I step down, I’m coming to your office with my suitcase and my brush in order to answer your charges.’ And they took him to court and he was discharged.
