While rejecting claims that Olukoyede’s trial was a media trial, Clark commended Olukoyede’s audacity in taking the case to television. He emphasized the need of fighting corruption immediately, quoting former President Buhari’s stern warning that doing otherwise might have disastrous effects. Olukoyede is fighting corruption, and Clark urged Nigerians to back him.

Olukoyede’s perseverance in pursuing corruption cases against past governors, some of whom presently occupy key positions, was also praised by Clark. He called for a prompt investigation and trial of those accused since 2007.
