Yahaya Bello: Attorneys Write United Nations, United Kingdom, Demand Visa Ban For EFCC ChairmanA group of attorneys announced on Friday that they had petitioned the UN and the government of the United Kingdom, among other international organizations, to forbid Mr. Ola Olukayode, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), from receiving visa. As reported by Vanguard, the lawyers made this announcement during a press briefing held in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.

They accused Mr. Olukayode of flouting legitimate court orders, specifically referencing the ongoing case involving the former governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello.

During the press conference, Mr. Emmanuel Agada, the spokesperson for the group of lawyers, asserted that the EFCC, under Mr. Olukayode’s leadership, had shown a disregard for court injunctions in its pursuit of prosecuting Mr. Yahaya Bello.

The lawyers emphasized their concern that the EFCC’s actions were politically motivated and called upon President Tinubu to intervene and rein in Mr. Olukayode.

The lawyers clarified that their primary objective is to advocate for the protection of the judiciary and the rule of law in Nigeria.
