After the mother arrived at the police station on Sunday to retrieve her eight-year-old kid, some users of the X platform (previously Twitter) questioned what might have caused the woman to get off a commercial bus in Lagos State and forget her child inside. The eight-year-old girl was reportedly left behind inside a commercial vehicle by someone he identified as “her guardian,” according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer of the state police command, who made the announcement on Sunday afternoon. Hundeyin also disclosed that the girl, who gave her name simply as Tayofo, a Togolese, was left behind by the person, whose identity was unknown, during a trip.

According to him, when the girl was brought to a police station by some Good Samaritans, the police operatives asked her some questions but all she could answer correctly were her name and where she came from.
She was unable to give details about where they were coming from and where they were going to.
However, a few hours after the matter was posted on Hundeyin’s X handle, the girl’s father was said to have come across the post and came to the police station with her mother, who was said to have apologized at the station for forgetting her daughter inside the vehicle.
But reacting to the incident, some X users wondered why a woman would forget her daughter inside a commercial vehicle, saying what she did sounded strange.
The X users made various comments on the post by Hundeyin, with some of them saying the woman could be going through some serious challenges that made her to forget her own daughter inside the vehicle.
