The Nation claims that Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa, who oversaw the case, remarked that the defendants failed to submit a counter-affidavit even after being served with the motion.

As a result, the court deemed all the facts in the affidavit as admitted and granted all the requests made.

The court’s directive requires the government to establish fixed prices for items such as flour, milk, salt, bicycles, spare parts, sugar, matches, motorcycles, motor vehicles, spare parts, spare parts, petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

Falana had brought the case to clarify whether the Price Control Act obligates the government to impose prices on certain goods. He also challenged the government’s failure to set prices, citing its illegality under the Price Control Act.
