He noted that Wike as the leader of the party and governor has the executive power to choose his successor. Speaking about the PDP Congress in Rivers State and how Fubara was sidelined in the process, he stated that the National Working Committee of the party is aware of the issue and is not supporting Fubara plans. He alleged that Fubara is preparing to run for election using another party and that the national party leadership is aware of this plan.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”For somebody to make you a governor in this country, it is not an easy task. It is not something that you pick on the street. Wike Is not God but you make somebody a governor if you have the apparatus of power. If you are the leader of the party and governor at the same time like Wike, you have the Executive power to pick who takes over from you as governor.
There is a problem in Rivers State and this problem in Rivers State is so fundamental that it has torn the party apart. You are now going to look at the National Working committee and ask who are they supporting. I was at Abuja last week and I discussed with the highest level of the party and they said the governor has not given them access to discuss with him. The governor is preparing for an election and he want to use another party to run for that election. The party at the National level knows that this is his plan ahead of the local government election.
