The Peoples Democratic Party’s former national vice chairman, Bode George, stressed the need for a stable and balanced government, stressing the equality and interdependence of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches as the three legs of a tripod. He urged the judiciary to maintain its autonomy and asserted that it must remain impartial in its decisions, not merely supporting the president or executive branch regardless of their actions’ righteousness or inappropriateness

He said, “The executive, legislature and judiciary are three equal arms of government that form the tripod, and as an engineer, any three legged structure that forms a body must be a stable platform. They were asking the current Chief Justice of the Federation, why he should go to the Presidential Villa for breakfast? What did he go there to do? If you have independence, reflect on it!
