A lawyer named Silas Onu has expressed concerns about an instance in which a female soldier was fired for stealing. In a video posted to YouTube by Channels TV, Onu said that, given the army general’s salary, he wondered how the general’s wife could afford jewelry worth thirty-five million naira. The female soldier in question, Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort was attached to the wife of an army general when the theft took place. It was later revealed that the stolen jewelry was sold to a jeweler in Kaduna for a significantly lower amount of five million naira.
