Anabs Rivers State elder statesman Sara Igbe has claimed that while Tinubu was Lagos governor, then-President Olusegun Obasanjo handed him an order, which he disregarded. Igbe made this statement in an interview with Silverbird TV where he voiced his concern about the manner in which Tinubu intervened in the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike. It would be recalled that Tinubu convened a meeting at the Villa where he presented an 8-point peace directive for both parties to sign and former governor Peter Odili read the directive on Tinubu’s behalf.

In Igbe’s words: “When Tinubu was Governor, Obasanjo gave him directive, he did not follow and heaven did not fall because he was within the law. So even as a man who had experienced that, you can not tell Rivers people that you just come with a piece of paper without a well-constituted government, the Attorney General was not there, the key component of government was not there and you gave directives to a former Governor to read and you say you have settled”.
