During his inauguration on the 29th of May, 2023, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the immediate removal of fuel subsidy across the country. The removal of the fuel subsidy has caused more hardship for many Nigerians and has generated a lot of mixed reactions.

The Nation reported that Olusegun Osoba appeared on Arise Television political programme which was anchored by Rufai Oseni.

Rufai Oseni asked; “The first question I asked you, you called President Tinubu a hero for removing subsidy. Would you call Goodluck Jonathan the hero for removing the subsidy? And why is it that when President Jonathan removed subsidy, your party then kicked against him?”

Reacting to the question raised, Olusegun Osoba said; “At that time, the subsidy was minimal, and what we were saying then was that they should tackle the corruption. The corruption continued and became bigger and bigger, involving round-tripping.”
