What moral high grounds are they blaming Muhammadu Buhari who left FX at N700 per dollar, rice N35,000 per bag - According to Dalung

Solomon Dalung, the former minister of sports and youth development, has poked fun at those who attribute the nation’s current economic woes to the former president Muhammadu Buhari’s government. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>

Dalung stated that rice was sold for N35,000 per bag and that the dollar was worth N700 when Buhari stepped down in May of last year. He mentioned that a bag of cement cost N3,000. According to the former minister, these commodities are now three times more expensive than they were during Buhari’s administration.

In the statement he made on his official X handle, Dalung asked what moral grounds the people who are blaming Buhari for the current economic woes have.

In addition to that, Dalung questioned if President Bola Tinubu’s administration has accounted for the proceeds of the removal of fuel subsidy since he came into power on May 29th last year.

He said, “Nigerians cannot sacrifice under rudderless leadership. Has President Bola Tinubu’s government accounted for proceeds of subsidy withdrawal since May 29th 2023? What moral high grounds are they blaming Muhammadu Buhari who left FX at N700 per dollar, rice N35,000 per bag, cement N3,000 per bag? All these have tripled.”
