The Secretary of the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has received a response from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) stating that he is unable to pay his drivers N100,000 in salary. NLC said it is unfortunate that George Akume who presides over the administration of the executive arm of government which is one of the pillars of democracy, would be seen making such statement.
The Nigeria Labour Congress said it wonders what the SGF is doing with four drivers and the kind of work he does that justifies the huge salaries and allowances that he takes home all the time.
In a statement that was titled, “Treasonable Felons And Economic Saboteurs Are In Agbada And Convoys”, the NLC said;
“We wonder what the SGF is doing with four drivers alone and the work that justifies the huge salaries and allowances that the SGF takes home all the time? Do we need to wonder too far why we are here as a nation when you have individuals with this mindset occupying sensitive positions in the corridors of power? It is unfortunate that the SGF who presides over the administration of the executive arm of government which is one of the pillars of democracy and is supposed to be a protector and defender of democracy, would be seen making statements that negate these traditions and principles”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
