We have a situation whereby some insurgents and terrorists dress better than the army– According to Patrick Nwatu

The flag officer heading Naval Training Command for Apapa, Lagos, Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu, said that they have an issue where some terrorists and rebels dress better than the army. He talked about the significance of uniforms as a mark of legitimacy and authority, particularly in light of Nigeria’s security issues. While acknowledging the difficulties posed by terrorists and rebels disguising themselves as security officers to commit crimes, he emphasized that uniforms remain a crucial tool for identifying law enforcement officials from criminals. Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu said this while speaking in an interview with Channels TV.

He said, “The uniform is an insignia, and it plays the role importantly. Why would we want to have a situation where we can encourage everyone to put on some touch of uniform on the side? We are not ignorant of the fact that we are in a peculiar situation in Nigeria, our security situation gives us some constraints because we have a situation whereby some insurgents, and some terrorists dress better than the army better than myself.
