In an interview with Daily Trust TV recently shared on YouTube, Yusuf said women are lining up for cups of rice, similar to what happens in war-torn areas like Sudan meanwhile in Abuja there are large scale construction projects. He also said the president is planning to spend 15.6 trillion naira on a highway and this amount is 56 percent of the total budget for 2024.

In Yusuf’s words: “We see our women lining up to receive cups of rice like they do in war-torn Sudan but at the same time you come to Abuja you see billions of constructions.
