Umar Ganduje “Sen Ndume Should Resign His Membership Of APC, Join Any Opposition Party Of His Choice”

 

The Nigerian Senate has stripped Senator Mohamed Ali Ndume of his Chief Whip responsibilities. Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, declared after a vote that “Members of the ruling APC Senate Caucus have supported Senator Ndume’s removal.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Daily Trust reported that this adjustment came after Ndume openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, especially in relation to economic difficulties including food shortages and security concerns.The APC party leadership has responded by requesting that Ndume give up his affiliation with the party.

In a letter signed by Barrister Ajibola Bashiru, national secretary of the APC, and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, national chairman, it was emphasized that “Senator Ndume should resign his membership of the APC and join any opposition party of his choice.” 

The senior senator’s removal from leadership is perceived as an attempt to quiet dissident voices inside the party.
