Enyinnaya Abaribe “There are more cows in Botswana than Nigeria, Botswana is size of 2 S/East States”

 

Former Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe has expressed his strong opposition to open grazing and advocated for the ranching method for herders. He stated that Botswana, a country much smaller than Nigeria, has more cows yet manages them without the problems Nigeria faces.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In a video shared by Channels TV, Senator Abaribe said it is important to adopt modern practices for cattle rearing in the 21st century. He said sticking to old methods from the 19th century is not practical or sustainable today. According to him, continuing with open grazing will cause more conflicts between farmers and herders.

In Abaribe’s words: “There are more cows in Botswana than in Nigeria, the size of Botswana is the size of two states in southeast. It is a question of our doing the right thing in the 21st century. There is no way anybody can assume that the way we lived in the 19th century is the way we are going to live today, it is just not going to be possible.
