On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, it was reported that after the arrest of a member of a robbery gang, two AK-47 rifles, 47 rounds of live ammunition, and the sum of M4.986 million were discovered. The group had broken into a man’s home and robbed him of N15 million. A few hours after robbing the resident, the robber—named as 35-year-old Hassan Iliya—was taken into custody, according to the public relations officer of the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who made the announcement on his Facebook wall on Tuesday.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
According to the statement by the Police PRO, the resident lodged a complaint that the gang came to his house at about 2:00 a.m., attacked and robbed him of the money.

However, following the report lodged, detectives began investigation and around 6:00 a.m. on the same day, Iliya was arrested at a village while he was attempting to escape on a motorcycle.

The command wrote: “A spot search on him revealed a sack containing two AK-47 rifles with 47 rounds of live ammunition and cash, totaling N4.986 million.”

He was said to have given more useful information to the police operatives and he is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.

Also, a manhunt had been launched for the arrest of the fleeing members of the robbery gang.
