In an interview conducted by Senior Deputy Editor Taiwo Amodu, Lamido discusses the current state of the PDP and the chances of the main opposition party, led by President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), winning the next general election in 2027.

He also addresses the controversies surrounding the PDP membership of Nyesom Wike, Tinubu’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as other national issues.

According to him, “Is Nigeria’s population prepared for this significant challenge? The issues of insecurity, the economy, and poverty continue to persist. It is not solely the responsibility of the PDP; what are the thoughts of the Nigerian citizens? There are people who have been employed to weaken the PDP, but we are making great efforts as we currently have individuals who oppose the PDP.

“Imagine individuals like Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, making a statement that ‘our leader, Wike, has announced that we will vote for Tinubu in 2027’. Envision someone from the PDP declaring their intention to follow Wike’s lead and vote for Tinubu in 2027. Even members within the PDP are secretly collaborating with the APC and Tinubu. Consequently, the situation is quite challenging. We are actively searching for individuals who share our concerns because the current party leaders do not align with us.

“If we can find government officials who share our perspectives, then we can confidently support this idea. However, it depends on who we can identify, and we are actively pursuing that. It is a difficult task, especially considering Tinubu’s influence over the country and the economy, as well as his audacity in prioritizing his own interests over Nigeria’s. It is truly remarkable.

“Tinubu is very daring; he is his own creation, he is a self-made man, right from Chicago, what he went through on the streets. Look at how he was able to fight the Alliance for Democracy and Afenifere and then Obasanjo. At the APC convention, Buhari was against him but he defeated Buhari. What are you talking about? Don’t underestimate a man like that. Look at how he made it in life. He confronted all obstacles to get to where he is today, at the apex.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
