The North is judging my daughter on how she dresses because she is modern–According to Princess Hauwa Momoh

Momoh praised her daughter’s determination in creating a documentary under challenging circumstances, highlighting the lack of governmental support or funding.

She expressed disappointment over the judgment her daughter has faced from the North regarding her modern fashion choices and personal authenticity.

Questioning whether it is a crime to embrace Western culture, Momoh emphasized that as a Muslim from Auchi, both traditional and modern lifestyles are accepted without judgment towards non-Muslims or different ideologies.

She explained that she raised her daughter to be a liberal Muslim.

According to Princess Hauwa Momoh, “My daughter isn’t lazy; she’s a strong, decent and intelligent young woman. Her documentary was written directed by her under the most difficult circumstances. She had no help or funding from the government or anyone but did everything with our savings. She worked so hard to tell her father’s story but no one has supported her rather, the North is judging her on how she dresses because she’s modern and she’s been herself. Is it a crime to be western?
