Lawal elaborated that if the electoral process had been fair and transparent, Tinubu would not have emerged victorious. “They were scared that if every Nigerian was allowed to cast their ballot and the votes were counted and announced as promised, there was no way Tinubu would have been president,” he asserted.

He further accused him and his allies of prioritizing their interests over those of Nigeria. “The powers that be around him were mostly people with motives other than serving Nigeria,” Lawal said. He also mentioned that Tinubu’s supporters manipulated the electoral process to ensure his victory, disregarding the will of the people.

Lawal pointed to international perspectives, noting that even though the process was slightly better than in the past, it still fell short of true democratic standards. “Based on what people observed, it was a bit better than what used to happen, but it still surprised everyone due to the political manipulations,” he added.

He concluded by raising concerns about the influence of foreign interests, highlighting that many government officials hold dual citizenship, which could serve the interests of other nations over Nigeria. “It serves America’s interests very well if such people take over Nigeria,” Lawal warned.
