Lawal said that the election was manipulated and that Tinubu was not the legitimate victor. Lawal reaffirmed his stance with conviction, promising to follow through on it regardless of the consequences.

He compared those responsible for the alleged rigging to thieves who are aware that they have taken something, implying that those participating in the rigging are fully aware of their conduct. “If you’re talking about the election, don’t ever use the word won; he didn’t win it; he rigged it.”

He stated,I will keep doing it till I die. With the knife pressed on my throat, I’ll declare he didn’t win. He understands he did not win. I used to say that if there is something in this room and we go out and find it missing, the man who took it knows he did it.
