Political activist Dele Farotimi responded to President Bola Tinubu’s stumble and fall while boarding a procession truck at Eagles Square via his official X page. He claimed that all he saw in the widely shared video of Tinubu falling was an elderly man, so he recoiled in horror. Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu tripped and fell while trying to climb a parade vehicle during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s democracy. In light of this, Dele Farotimi said all he saw when watching the video of President Tinubu falling was an old man who was falling, and that made him cringe. He further stated that he wishes to grow old like President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, “I’ve no condemnation for those who found some mirth in the spectacle, but the truth is that I cringed when I saw the video. All I saw was an old man falling. I hope to grow old one day, and I grew up with the elderly. I have no quarrel with those laughing, but I found nothing funny.”
