They said Ohakim flogged a Reverend Father; I went to see the Father and he said it was lie — According to Chief Vitalis AjumbeAll Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) former Imo state chairman Chief Vitalis Ajumbe has discussed why former Imo governor Ikedi Ohakim was not reelected. According to Ajumbe, Ohakim’s term was set at eight years by the equitable charter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a recent report by The Sun, Ajumbe said he personally investigated the matter and spoke with Reverend Father Eustace Okere, the alleged victim. He said to his surprise, Reverend Father Okere denied the accusation, stating that Ohakim had never flogged him and that he hadn’t even seen the governor. He said the false accusation led to widespread condemnation of Ohakim, with people singing songs declaring that someone who could assault a Reverend Father was unfit to govern.
