There was a night Obasanjo called us about his third-term, I, the Senate President and Mantu -According to Tafida

Former Senate Majority Leader Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, who was formerly an ambassador to the United Kingdom, has claimed that Obasanjo talked to him about seeking a third term while he was president. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Tafida claimed in an interview with Daily Trust TV that Obasanjo invited him and a few other prominent MPs to a meeting at night where they discussed Obasanjo’s desire to serve a third term. He claimed to have informed Obasanjo during the meeting that the governors who had claimed to back his ambition were only playing tricks on him.

In Tafida’s words: “There was a night Obasanjo called us about his third-term, I, the Senate President and Mantu and the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and House leader. He said he was traveling out and he would be back in three days. I said you are leaving but all those Governors who told you they are with you are not. He tried to know what was actually happening. I said you should really try to find out the governors are doing nothing, they are only deceiving you. You know we are all equal in that chamber, anybody can tell anybody anything. That night he could not travel because he wanted to make arrangements to invite the governor to be seen by the Chief of Staff, Mohammed”. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
