Regarding the recent escape of Binance Executive Nadeem Anjarwella, which has been making headlines in Nigeria, former DSS Director Mike Ejiofor has shared some views. According to him, there might have been a deal that planned Nadeem Anjarwella’s escape from NSA custody. Mike Ejiofor recognized a silver lining in this embarrassing episode, despite the numerous negatives to be taken away from it. He praised the National Service Advisor’s office for officially acknowledging the Binance Executive’s escape and taking responsibility for their incompetence.
According to his claims, the time Nadeem Anjarwella allegedly escaped from the Nigerian authorities and the time he possibly got to the Airport can’t be less than two hours. He also added that Nadeem Anjarwella wasn’t placed on a watch list and this helped him escape flawlessly.
Quoting some of his statements from Arise News Television today, he said ” I am happy that the office of the National Security Adviser came up with a statement instead of allowing people to speculate because it could have been worse. They must be commended at least for issuing a statement and owning up to their own negligence. The State Security Service places suspects on a watch list and unless you make a request or it is a case being handled and investigated by the SSS, you don’t just place people on a watch list. If the NSA had contacted the SSS that this man was being investigated and requested to place him on a watchlist, it could have been a different thing but he wasn’t placed on a watchlist and he travelled through the normal route”.
“The time he allegedly escaped and the time he got to the Airport can not be less than two hours because first of all, he would have to go to his house and park his things and possibly take a vehicle to the airport”.
