However, while the husband attained the statutory retirement age of 60 last year and got promoted to the rank of AIG before his retirement, the wife is still in service and was among those who were promoted to the rank of AIG by the Police Service Commission this week.

Mrs Yeunde Longe was a one-time head of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, where she implemented reforms that fast track handling of criminal cases, making the environment more conducive and elimination of unnecessary detention of suspects.

Before her appointment as AIG, Mrs Yetunde Longe was the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Eastern Ports, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and was promoted along with 14 other Commissioners of Police to the rank of AIG.

According to the statement by the Police Service Commission on the promotion: “The 14 commissioners of police and 21 deputy commissioners appeared before the management of the commission for an interactive promotion interview, a condition precedent for their elevation to the next ranks.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
