The Planned Relocation Of The CBN And FAAN to Lagos Is Just The Tip Of The Iceberg—According to Bashir Dalhatu

Bashir Dalhatu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Arewa Consultative Forum, has responded to the planned relocation of CBN and FAAN’s offices. He claimed that the move of CBN and FAAN to Lagos State is only the beginning. In making this claim, he noted that there have been previous large ministry, department, or agency relocations to Lagos State. He went on to say that the government, as it did in 1999, had again chosen Lagos State, even though the CBN or FAAN might have been moved to other states in Nigeria, such as Anambra, Kaduna, or Rivers State. Speaking further in an interview with Arise TV, Bashir Dalhatu stated that in 1999 the Nigerian Port Authority was moved from Abuja to Lagos, but nobody thought it was a big deal, but now the federal government has agreed to relocate CBN and FAAN to Lagos State, which begs the question: why Lagos State?

According to him, “the planned relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos is just the tip of the iceberg; it started much earlier than that. In 1999, the Nigerian Port Authority was moved from Abuja back to Lagos, and the Nigerian International Institution of Internal Affairs was also moved.   1. I am afraid if Nigeria could be a single country. We sensitive of our tribe and geopolitical area. No sign of unity neither a sign of give-and-take. Why Ports Authority to a dry land? and many other vices.
