Former Presidential Aide Bashir Ahmed recently brought attention to a statement made by the Labour Party in 2013 regarding Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the most recent general election, stating that during his time in office, he only established a brewery. He said in the tweet that the brewery was established to give the populace a means of escape through alcohol use and to deflect criticism of what was believed to be Obi’s administration’s shortcomings.
