The North Is Not Afraid To Discuss Restructuring. We Have 60% Of The Population - According to Bashir Dalhatu

The Central Bank of Nigeria disclosed plans to move some of its departments to Lagos last week in an internal memo, citing staffing constraints at its Abuja headquarters. Amid that, various reactions have since trailed it, especially from the northern part of the country as some of their Senators condemned the relocation and urged the federal government to reverse the relocated departments or face legal action. The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) had earlier condemned the relocation of the offices, claiming that the decision was to further under-develop the northern part of the country.

Speaking more on the matter, the Chairman Board of Trustees, Arewa Consultative Forum, Bashir Dalhatu, SAN, while on Arise TV, said “The leadership in the North has shifted to a new generation like us and are less patience, in a hurry to see progress all over, peace and security, but we are also not afraid to discuss restructuring. If you talk to the Southwest, they want to own all the VAT they collect from the Southeast, they want another state created even if they don’t have space or population, but if you talk to us now, what we want to do is to use what we have to get what we are looking for”.

Talking about what they have, Bashir said ‘We have over 70% of the land mass of Nigeria, 60% of the population and natural resources. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
