The North is not afraid of telling Tinubu to his face that we are not ready to re-elect him in 2027 - According to KEF

The Katsina Elders’ Forum (KEF) announced their intention to not support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election should he proceed with the federal government’s decision to relocate the corporate headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and certain departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from Abuja to Lagos. After a meeting behind closed doors in Abuja, Aliyu Mohammed, the Katsina Elders’ Forum Secretary, communicated that those who are advising President Tinubu to carry out these relocations are not doing what is best for Nigeria. According to the report by Sahara Reporters, he said, “Such a person is not interested in the Nigerian project. And the North is not afraid of telling Tinubu to his face that we are not ready to re-elect him in 2027 once he starts moving all these critical departments to Lagos.”

The move to transfer certain departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the corporate headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Lagos has elicited diverse responses from the public. While some individuals from the Northern region have opposed the decision, others argue that there is no issue with it as long as it serves the best interests of the system.
