Today, Barcelona made their La Liga comeback, taking on a struggling Villarreal club at Camp Nou Stadium in what appeared to be a fierce football match. The opening minutes of this game saw Barcelona on the ascendency as they forced some brilliant saves from Filip Jörgensen who did his best to prevent Villarreal from conceding. Villarreal eventually broke the deadlock in the 41st minute of the game as Gerard Merona found the back of the net with a stunning strike to make the scoreline 1-0 at halftime.

Villarreal doubled their advantage in the 54th minute of the game as Ilias Akhomach dribbled past Iñaki Pena to score a close-range goal, making the scoreline 2-0. Barcelona pulled a goal back in the 60th minute of the game thanks to a brilliant effort from Ilkay Gundogan. A relentless Barcelona side got the equaliser in the 68th minute of the game as Pedri Gonzalez drove a lovely effort into the back of the net to make the scoreline 2-2.

The Catalans took the lead for the very first time in the 71st minute of the game as they forced an own goal from Eric Bailly to make the scoreline 3-2. Villarreal came from a losing position to eventually win this game in the final minutes thanks to brilliant late goals from Gonçalo Guedes, Jose Luis Morales, and Alexander Sørloth as they combined efforts to make the scoreline 5-3 at full-time.

Real Madrid on the other hand had yet another win to celebrate in the competition today when they travelled to face Las Palmas at the Gran Canaria Stadium. The Los Blancos delivered an incredible performance in the encounter as they came from behind to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Las Palmas thanks to goals from Vinicius Jnr and Aurelien Tchouameni.
