The two children were kidnapped by a criminal in the Nepa community in Jos, Plateau State. The kidnapper extorted 1.5 million naira as ransom from the children’s families before he was caught and the children got rescued
The resident disclosed that he and other local residents armed with bamboo sticks, shovels, and other makeshift weapons, went to the building where the children were being held. The kidnapper attempted to flee but was quickly overpowered by the determined crowd. He said after they caught the kidnapper, they tied him up with a rope and then handed him over to the local vigilante group
