Igbos, Yorubas, and Hausas all desire power, but no one sees the inherent risks in the agitations as a violation of the constitution, according to senior Nigerian advocate Jibrin Samuel Okutepa. He published this assertion in a post on his official X account on Tuesday.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In the post that Jibrin Samuel Okutepa made on his page, he said there is nothing in the Nigeria constitution that says power must reside among the three ethnic groups. He said it is a classical example of constitutional discrimination. He however, stated that for Nigeria to be developed, the emphasis must be on capacity, vision, patriotism and nationalism.

Jibrin Samuel Okutepa wrote on his page;

“The Igbo nation wants power. The Yoruba nation wants power. Hausa/Fulani wants power to remain with them. In all of these, no one sees the inherent dangers in these agitations as being in breach of the constitution. There is nothing in our constitution that says power must reside with these three nations. It is one classical example of constitutional discrimination. Why must it be that only 3 out of these 240 nationalities are quarrelling to control and rule us. My humble view is that if Nigeria wants to develop and we must build Nigeria as a nation, then we must de-emphasize the idea of who rules and leads us”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
