Former Youths and Sports Development Minister Solomon Dalung has described his participation in the transition committee that helped Jonathan hand over the presidency to Buhari. He related a discussion he had with Buhari over the Presidential Villa. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In an interview with Channels TV, Dalung said Buhari, upon getting to the Villa, expressed his opinion that the environment was not suitable fo&&&r a Nigerian President and that he found it too serene and isolated from the rest of the country. He said Buhari initially stated that he would not reside there however, despite his reluctance, the “power cabal” ultimately influenced him to move into the Villa.

In Dalung’s words: “The day we went to take over the Villa from Jonathan, Buhari said he won’t live there. He said the environment is not habitable for a Nigerian President and when I asked him why, he said it is too serene, too isolated from the country so he was not going to live here. But of course, the same power cabal ended up taking him to the Villa which he said he was not going to live there. Understanding the power dynamics around a president is a complete symposium topic and research that a lot of people will need to dive into to understand.
