An massive search and rescue operation was launched to locate the chopper carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi shortly after it was forced to make a “hard landing” in a mountainous region of northwest Iran. IRIB said, “The big news will come out in few minutes as a rescue team approaches the scene of the accident.”
A report by NBC News also stated that at least 40 rescue teams which include drones and search dogs have been deployed. It was also gathered that heavy fog in the area where the incident is believed to have happened was making it difficult for the rescue team to get to the site.
The incident has been generating reactions from different parts of the world, with many watching with keen interest what the outcome of the search will be.
Meanwhile, the official Instagram account for President Raisi has asked the people of Iran to pray for the President and others who were in the helicopter.
