Recalling how he risked his life to oppose the annulment of Abiola’s victory in 1993, he made it clear that there is no justification for a Yoruba person to insult him.

Pat Utomi disclosed this information on Friday afternoon in a post on his official Twitter account. He mentioned how the Oba of Lagos, after making certain remarks and was ridiculed, he tried to put things in perspective and quell the criticism.

He said that back when there was still some decency, the Lagos State Government referred to him as “an icon of Lagos.”

A portion of his message said, “That any Yoruba person would, with no practical point of logic, call me names tells a story of how the present order has damaged Nigeria considering that I used to be accused of being too sympathetic to Yoruba causes, even though in my mind pure objective reasons drove my choices.”

“When I put my life on the line in leading even street demonstrations as a major executive in industry when the Abiola election was annulled, I did not think ethnicity.”

“When the Oba of Lagos was being pilloried for some comments, I moved to douse it by putting things in context; even his daughter told him how much trouble he could have been in but for me.”

“These people should go and ask Tinubu what he said to me at our first meeting in 1998. What a shame we have sunk so low.”

“Thank God for the Lagos State Governments that called me an icon of Lagos when some civility still existed. The HO Davies’ of our history must be turning in their graves.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
