"Obi's Visit To Church And Mosque Is To Help The Less Privileged And Not For Political Campaign"Dr. Yunusa Tanko, one of the chieftains of the Labour Party, LP, has declared that Peter Obi’s visit to some religious centers is unrelated to political campaigning and is intended to assist the underprivileged. He made the statement while reacting to some of the criticisms that the former governor of Anambra state has received since he ended his “Thank You Tour” in the North.

Yunusa Tanko said Peter Obi only visits churches and mosques to help the less privileged and not for any other reason. He said anytime Peter Obi visits religious centers, he doesn’t talk about politics, insult or indulge in name calling.

Yunusa Tanko was quoted as saying;

“Obi’s visit to churches and mosques is purely prompted by his urge to help the less privileged and has nothing to do with political campaigns. In these places, Obi had given messages of hope to lift the spirit of the downtrodden. He hastily and never talked about politics, abused anybody or indulged in name-calling. For instance, during the Ramadan period, Obi visited some praying centres in the North and South breaking fast with the Muslim faithful, donating some items to help ameliorate their sufferings and further providing basic amenities such as potable water in some communities”.
