The Punch reports that Chinyere Chukwu, 38, of Okija, in the state’s Ihiala Local Government Area, was arrested by the Anambra State Government, via the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, for attempting to sell her two sons. Chukwu allegedly planned with her 17-year-old daughter, Joy, to get rid of her sons due to the difficult economic circumstances facing the nation. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

During interrogation, Chukwu revealed that she has 11 children and opted to sell two of them because she couldn’t provide for their needs. In her statement, Chukwu admitted, “I have 11 kids and when I couldn’t take care of them, I chose to sell two. Since they are boys, we initially set the price at N1 million each. However, after negotiations with the commissioner, who pretended to be the buyer, we agreed to sell them for N1.8 million instead of the initial N2 million.”

“I became intrigued by the business after witnessing my neighbor’s successful sale of one of her children. This motivated me to venture into it myself. It was my first attempt at such a business. Initially, I had only two children with my husband, and I acquired the remaining nine after his passing.
